I would just like to sing the praises of a British company…….. I have just had an hip operation aged 54 and although having made a great recovery in some respects, have had some problems to overcome that no-one tells you about. After about 3 weeks the dressing comes off a very elegant, long scar, with some scabbing. Now the problem with that is that you need something smooth and long enough to cover it to prevent rubbing from whatever you are wearing (long skirts mostly). The immediate thing that came to mind was a pair of French Knickers. Now, I am 54 and although reasonably attractive, would not in a million years call myself a sex kitten, or subscribe to Bridget Jones’ knickers (which by the by would have had an elastic leg hole crossing the scar). Having sent my partner off to try and find some (he failed dismally but 10 out of 10 for courage), I then trawled the net. Good grief – everything available but….. and some deeply dodgy sites, and at the very best hugely expensive options – and only one at that. However, finally, finally, I came across Sulis Silks Ltd. based in Bath. Made in the UK, my French Knickers were sent 1st class and arrived the next day. Not only that, because they are made here I was informed that if they were the incorrect length and did not cover my scar they could amend them accordingly. They are still the most expensive knickers I have ever bought at £28 each, but the sheer bliss of wearing them and not being in pain outweighs all else. I would recommend them whole heartedly.
